Ruth Halupa Ynigues Navalta, 94, of Hilo died June 5 at home. Born in Haina, Honokaa, she was a salesclerk, custodian for O‘okala Head Start and retired farmer. Services held. Survived by sons, Roy Navalta of Keaau and Wilfred (Tauna) Navalta of Hilo; daughters, Linda (Alan) Miyahira of Hilo and Pi‘ilani Borges of Hilo; hanai daughter, Jewel Lizardi of Hilo; brother, Thomas Ynigues of Honolulu; sisters, Lucy Meyer of Hilo and Beatrice (Edwin) Narte of California; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
